After five years of intractable back pain, I went to see my doctor (Dr. Kenneth Jiang, Hollister, CA) who recommended that I see Anna Marie Lewellen for physical therapy.  This was sometime around May-June 2004.  With the back pain, I had started to walk with a limp and was somewhat hunched over.  I then started treatment with Anna who discovered a number of things that required treatment.  I found that she was truly amazing in her ability to determine the right therapy that seemed to help reduce my pain.  During these months she found that my left hip problem was causing my torso to twist.  My muscles then adjusted to this condition.  Anna then worked on my body to help straighten me out.  This was working very well and I could start standing more erect.  Somewhere during this period, she felt that I most likely had a left hip problem.  She clearly indicated that in her professional opinion, she would recommend seeing an orthopedic surgeon, namely John Dearborn, MD from the Washington Center for Joint Replacement (Minimally Invasive Surgery Center) in Fremont, California. 
 
I had several visits with Dr. Dearborn where he was able to determine that I indeed needed a left hip replacement.  He was very pleased that I had six months of physical therapy, which would support a quick recovery after surgery.  He said before surgery that as a result of my torso muscles being straightened and strengthened by Anna's therapy that I would be able to stand erect after the hip replacement.  This is exactly what happened.  Within about three hours of surgery (February 2005) the nurses had me standing and walking around the hospital (for safety reasons I had a walker).  I had absolutely no pain then or thereafter.  I could not believe it after so many years of suffering.  Anna's expertise in providing physical therapy for six months and her recommendation of Dr. Dearborn for my hip replacement surgery truly provided a miracle for me.  I cannot say enough of how much I appreciate Anna and how much I recommend her for any chronic body aches and pains.

I had many years full of severe pain before I met Anna Marie Lewellen.  At that time, I had recently had a lumbar spine fusion with titanium instrumentation at several levels.  I was weak, in a rigid body brace, emotionally and physically exhausted.  I had difficulty walking, standing or merely surviving my days and nights with the severity of the pain I was experiencing.  Even with narcotic medications, electronic assistance via a TENS unit, and pain patches, I was not having any success battling my pain and the accompanying loss of function that went with my injury and subsequent surgeries. 

One day, I decided that I needed a change in my therapy, and I was lucky enough to find Hollister Physical Therapy.  Immediately, I knew that this was going to be a unique place, with an individual experience.  As a result, for the first time in a long while, I felt an uplifting feeling of hope!  Anna Marie Lewellen impressed me immediately with her compassion, empathy and skill as a therapist.  She made me feel as if we were a team, and she was there to motivate, help, treat and cheer me on to a future of positive well-being, health and function!

It's been many years since I first arrived at Hollister Physical Therapy, and I am happy to say that I am a true success story in the making! With Anna's help, I have reached a level of function and daily activity that I never thought was possible! It's a miracle!

 I went to a chiropractor for 25 years and didn't get true relief from my pain until I started going to Hollister Physical Therapy.  Anna Marie Lewellen's Myofascial Release methods, combined with her compassion and professionalism have provided me with the ability to function with a sense of well-being in my daily life.  In the future, I will continue to go to Anna Marie for all of my therapeutic needs.

All I have to say is that Anna Marie Lewellen is a miracle-worker.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago.  When I started seeing Anna earlier this year, I was incapacitated by my pain.  I suffered from migraines, severe muscle spasms, general pain and stiffness, in addition to insomnia and depression.  I was heavily  medicated with narcotics and anti-anxiety pills.  I was unable to drive myself and barely able to care for my young children.  Essentially, I was totally disabled. 

After the first treatment by Anna, I was miraculously on the path to getting my life back.  The first night, I was able to sleep through the night without extra medications.  After a few treatments, I was able to drive myself and my children safely.  I was also able to clean my house and care for my children like a mother should.

I have continued to see Anna due to the chronic nature of fibromyalgia.  I still have migraines and general pain, but I don't take nearly the drugs that I used to.  I am functional and a good mom again!  Thanks to Anna!
